We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Band 7 Theatre Scrub Nurse to lead our dedicated team in Orthopaedic and Emergency Theatres. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
As a Team Leader, you will:
1. Lead and manage a team of scrub nurses and support staff in orthopaedic and emergency surgical theatres.
2. Ensure safe, effective, and high-quality perioperative care.
3. Support the Theatre Matron and contribute to service development and clinical governance.
4. Act as a role model, promoting best practice and professional standards.
5. Coordinate staffing, training, and development within the team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have:
6. NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) or HCPC Registered ODP.
7. Significant scrub experience in orthopaedic and/or emergency surgery.
8. Proven leadership and team management skills.
9. Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities.

Essential criteria
16. NMC Registered Nurse / HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner
17. Specialist knowledge of theatres procedures / instrumentation acquired though degree or diploma plus experience and further post registration study / experience or management qualification in a related field
18. Certificate of Mentorship, clinical supervision or leadership
Desirable criteria
19. Working towards master’s degree or above.

20. Sufficient and/or extensive experience at band 6 level within Scrub role

21. Well-developed human resource management skills
22. Proven ability to analyse and use data to support decision making and identify trends
