Job Description
A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is seeking a Personal Assistant to support their child in attending activities of interest and building independence skills. The role is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, enabling the client to manage support and meet care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly, supportive, flexible, and able to encourage the client to make independent decisions regarding their care.
Main Duties
* Support the client with attending activities of interest and engaging socially in the community.
* Encourage independence by offering support and encouragement.
* Provide companionship in the client’s home, engaging in conversation and offering social interaction.
* Ensure the client’s safety at all times during working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the client during working hours.
* Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report any concerns to the relevant authority.
* Contact the GP, Social Worker, or Local Authority if medical assistance is required.

Other Requirements
* Possession of a full, clean driving licence and use of a car.
* Business use permission on vehicle insurance to use the vehicle during work hours.
Benefits
5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata). Sick pay at the statutory pay rate. Training is provided if required.
