Overview
As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you will look after the different needs of residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. You will lead a team of care staff, including training, supervision and delegating duties on shift. You will also support administering and ordering medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessments, and liaising with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members. You will always respect the dignity and preferences of residents and contribute to an environment that is warm, welcoming and vibrant.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of care staff on shift, including training, supervision and delegating duties.
* Assist with administering and ordering medications.
* Review and update resident care plans and risk assessments.
* Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and resident family members.
* Uphold residents’ dignity and preferences and contribute to a warm, welcoming environment.
About You
* NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Experience in a residential care setting with proven team leadership skills.
* Ability to make appropriate decisions to support residents’ needs and wellbeing.
* Warm-hearted, compassionate and committed to providing individualized care.
* Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development; potential career progression into Care Practitioner, Care Community Lead or nursing pathways.
