Overview

The EMEA Senior Employee Relations Business Partner is responsible for leading and overseeing all employee relations case management across multiple countries in the EMEA & UK region, including Ireland, Germany, Sweden, France, and more. This role requires a deep understanding across all HR disciplines and includes maintaining employee relations records, project management, developing trainings, policies, procedures, and interpreting data analytics. The position reports to the Global Employee Relations Manager and acts as a backup/escalation point to other ER team members as needed.


Responsibilities

* Effective case management of all people-related issues and adverse employment actions, including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, grievances, redundancies/reduction in force, leave of absence actions, background checks, and reasonable accommodations, through to conclusion. Works independently but may partner with HR, Legal, H&S, compliance teams or other COEs.
* Coach and guide managers on complex ER matters by applying regulatory expertise and HR policies across all disciplines.
* Assess risk and develop risk-mitigation strategies to limit legal exposure, applying knowledge of regulations, policies, and practices.
* Undertake investigations, prepare reports and documentation, and develop disciplinary actions or memos in support of cases, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations; may support legal case preparation.
* Maintain up-to-date employee relations records electronically in the HRIS; ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and record-keeping requirements.
* Monitor trends, analyze data, and prepare presentations to enable business insights and proactive solutions.
* Develop policies, procedures, trainings, SOPs, templates, and other tools/resources for the EMEA & UK region.
* Promote a positive employee relations culture with a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures; may provide training to employees and managers.
* Support or lead regional change programs and special projects as directed, influencing risk management outcomes that may impact Cubic globally.
* Act as a backup and escalation point to other ER team members as needed.
* Complete additional special projects by assigned deadlines.


Qualifications

* Four-year college degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred; 8–12 years' experience in Employee Relations.
* Extensive understanding of employment/industrial & labor law in Germany & UK; experience in Sweden, France, etc. preferred.
* Significant knowledge of HR processes, policies, and best practices across all disciplines; ability to research and apply knowledge to regulatory requirements.
* Ability to interpret and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies within the EMEA & UK region (Ireland, Germany, Sweden, France, etc.) to support complex matters and risk mitigation.
* Prior experience managing investigations and other adverse employment actions including disciplinary and grievances, performance improvement, redundancies/reduction in force, leave of absence actions, background checks, and reasonable accommodations.
* Experience in data analysis, delivering training or training program development, general project management, and policy/procedure development.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively and discretely with employees at all levels including executives.
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy; able to work independently in a time-sensitive, sometimes stressful environment.
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); HRIS systems experience; Workday preferred.
* Ability to protect and handle confidential personnel information.
* Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks under deadlines; some travel may be required (mostly domestic).
