Join us at Barclays as a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Barclays Control Framework is applied across Wholesale Client Onboarding (WCOB) to maintain an effective and robust control environment, specifically related to CDD. This position involves leading quality risk management and assurance in line with group policies, standards, and methodologies. The role also focuses on improving the framework, control environment, and culture through deployment of enhancements and best practices. Due to the high level of risk and regulatory scrutiny, strong negotiation and influence skills are required to manage multiple tasks across different areas.
To be successful as a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Lead, you should have:
* Excellent knowledge of Operational Risk & Controls and/or audit in a highly regulated business environment, with practical knowledge of internal controls, including development and maintenance of appropriate frameworks.
* Strong understanding of Financial Crime Regulations and Policies, or the ability to develop this understanding.
* Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to negotiate and influence cross-functionally, both internally and externally to Barclays.
Additional highly valued skills/experience include:
* Exhibit excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound judgments. Be comfortable influencing peers, stakeholders, and business leadership teams.
* Detailed understanding of the Financial Crime Policy and Standards and their application in a control context, with an appreciation of CDD architecture.
* Motivated, high-performing individual with proven experience working collaboratively to achieve and often exceed objectives, assisting others in doing so.

This role is based in Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to support risk mitigation and the protection of the bank's operational, financial, and reputational risks.
Accountabilities
* Collaborate with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
* Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation, prioritizing issues by severity to prevent disruption to bank operations.
* Develop reports to communicate key findings from risk assessments, including control weaknesses and recommendations, to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
* Conduct reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework, aligned with policies, regulations, and best practices.
* Ensure adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and develop appropriate methodologies for assessing controls against this framework.
