Job Description
We are seeking a recently qualified or graduate Rural Surveyor to join our team of surveyors working mainly across North & West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be passionate about agriculture and the rural economy and have a desire to be part of the rural community. Excellent training will be provided with career development opportunities for the right candidate.
Areas of Work
·
Advice on current and future grant & support schemes (CSS, SFI, Capital Grants etc.)
· Rural property valuations (Red Book for tax planning, IHT, CGT and disputes)
· Rural property sales & purchase advice covering a mix of residential, agricultural, development and commercial properties
· Rural planning applications including agricultural permitted development, change of use (class Q & R), farm conversions and new-build developments
· Land promotion through Local Plan and advice on option & promotion arrangements
· Advice on tenancy matters and preparation of FBT's and Grazing Licences
· General agricultural advice including NVZ's, farm building design, diversification & costings
· Utilities compensation advice and claims
The Candidate
The successful Candidate will be/have:
· Member of the RICS or working towards their APC
· Have relevant experience within the industry
· FAAV qualified or working towards their qualification – preferred
· Capable of working independently on projects as well as part of a team
· Good organisational, communication and IT skills
· Full UK driving licence and own car essential
· Be keen to learn, build relationships and develop their experience within the industry

· Full time position working Mon-Fri 9.00am – 5.30pm with flexibility to suit the right candidate

Who we are
Established in 2021 by Andrew Hardcastle, the firm provides Farm Consultancy, Valuation, Planning, Sales and Tenancy advice to a range of mainly rural and agricultural clients across the Yorkshire region.
Currently based in the village of Kirkby Malzeard, west of Ripon, the business has grown over its first 5 years to a team of 6 surveyors and 1 administrator. The firm is in the process of establishing a larger office to the west of Ripon to facilitate the continued growth of the business.
Hardcastle Rural Surveyors was established with the aim of providing expert consultancy and professional advice to farmers, landowners and rural businesses and to help them not just survive but to grow and succeed. Our rapidly expanding client base has now given rise for the need of an additional surveyor to provide advice on a range of subjects.
