About the unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable, and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle, from concept and design to construction, operations, decommissioning, or repowering, supporting the global energy transition.
Overview of the role
Due to growth and high demand in Europe, Africa, and America, we seek a Renewables Project Manager for our global energy team in the UK. You will lead Wind / Solar PV and Hybrid Technical Advisory projects, ensuring they are resourced, delivered on time and budget, and help increase project value while reducing risks. Responsibilities include coordination of internal and external resources, deliverable reviews, client liaison, and reporting. The role may involve bid preparation and participation in other advisory projects. This is a permanent position offering excellent career development opportunities in renewable energy projects.
Role responsibilities
1. Guide and manage due diligence projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
2. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to gather and analyze data.
3. Conduct technical assessments of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and emerging technologies.
4. Evaluate project feasibility, design, and performance metrics.
5. Identify and assess technical risks; develop mitigation strategies and provide recommendations.
6. Prepare detailed due diligence reports with findings and insights.
7. Present findings clearly to clients and stakeholders.
8. Serve as the primary contact during due diligence projects, addressing queries and providing expert advice.
9. Ensure projects comply with industry standards and regulations, staying updated on industry changes.
10. Collaborate with financial analysts to integrate technical findings into financial models and review these models.
11. Contribute to methodology and tool development, participate in training, and share knowledge with colleagues.
12. Mentor junior team members and support their growth.
13. Conduct market research on new technologies and trends, supporting business development and strategic planning.
Candidate specification
Essential:
* Bachelor's in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial); a relevant master's is a plus.
* Experience in due diligence for Wind/Solar PV assets.
* Experience managing ADDs, VDDs, TDDs.
* Knowledge of Wind/Solar PV development in the UK/Ireland and relevant design codes.
* Familiarity with PVsyst or similar software.
* Understanding of standards, codes, and regulations.
* Proactive, problem-solving, able to work independently and in teams, proficient in English.
Desirable:
* Project management experience across disciplines.
* Additional certifications like APQ.
* Strong IT skills, experience in multidisciplinary environments, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
