About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Solution Architect to join a major, long-term programme supporting New Zealand Defence. This is a strategic, high-impact role where you will lead end-to-end SAP solution architecture, shaping and delivering enterprise-scale S/4HANA solutions across complex environments.
You will act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders and global delivery teams to design, influence, and deliver innovative SAP solutions. This role also provides the opportunity to leverage modern tooling, automation, and AI to drive business value and enhance solution delivery.
This programme offers long-term stability, with a 10-year pipeline of work, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a secure, high-profile defence programme.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and architect end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solutions across complex business environments
• Design comprehensive solution approaches, including technical architecture, cost models, and delivery strategy
• Drive solutioning for large-scale proposals and competitive bids, articulating value through strong communication and storytelling
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor across business and technology functions
• Oversee the transition from solution design through to mobilisation and delivery
• Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation
• Leverage emerging technologies, automation, and AI to enhance solution quality and delivery effectiveness
• Provide thought leadership within the SAP and broader technology landscape
Skills & Experience
• 15+ years SAP experience, with at least 5+ years in a Lead/Senior Solution Architect role
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, including full lifecycle implementations
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex SAP solutions within large-scale programmes
• Experience supporting pre-sales, bids, and solution design activities
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and advisory skills
• Strong leadership experience across global and distributed teams
• Experience leveraging AI, automation, and modern tooling within solution architecture
• Familiarity with solution architecture frameworks and methodologies
• Master’s Degree (or equivalent) preferred
