Within the Issuing Centre the 12 Sqn Civilian Senior Storekeeper will be employed as a permanent point of contact for all air safety critical procedures for the distribution and control of tools required to maintain our aircraft. They will serve as the continuity and will be supported by an AS1 on a rotational basis as Tool Issue Centre Staff.
The working pattern is based on a 37-hour week over a 5-day cycle, Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 12:00 and 12:30 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 13:00. This is subject to amendment with business need.
Job Description
The Civilian Senior Storekeeper will be responsible to the 12 Sqn Senior Engineering Officer, through the Warrant Officer, to carry out the following tasks in accordance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) Regulatory Policy:
* Responsible for the daily operation of the Issuing Centre, including controlling the issue/return of all tools and equipment as well as their maintenance.
* Providing oversight for equipment inventories and the maintenance of Main Operating Base and deployable hand tools, toolkits and tool tally boards held within 12 Sqn’s Tool Issue Centre.
* Management of Test and Measuring Equipment including the assurance of regular mandated servicing schedules.
* Engagement with third party contractors to facilitate the management and control of tools within their area of responsibility.
* Apply and enforce all appropriate and necessary Health & Safety measures and MAA means of compliance.
* Responsible for the Duty Airman during their rotation as Tool Issue Centre Staff, ensuring that they have read and signed their orders during handover/takeover.

* Proficient in the use of the Microsoft 365 suite and applications such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote.
* Ability to work as part of an effective team on ad-hoc tasks.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Highly organised, with good time management skills and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to maximise productivity.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience within the Defence Air Environment and knowledge of MAA engineering practices.
* Previous experience with the distribution and control of aircraft tools as well as their maintenance.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
