Overview
Due to continued success and expansion within our Energy Division, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Project Manager to join our team. The candidate will have experience with building services or energy sector projects such as district heating or energy centres., Experience and understanding in managing design and build projects.
Responsibilities
 * To be responsible for the delivery of Energy sector projects on time and within budget, whilst exceeding customer expectations.
 * To oversee members of staff and sub-contractors on-site, including day to day support, continual training and to effectively resolve any issues that may arise.
 * To play an active part in progress meetings with key stakeholders and customers.
 * To ensure that any M&E services systems are properly installed and commissioned.
 * Provide front end design & preconstruction management where required.
 * To ensure that company Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to constantly, and enforce this where necessary.
 * Oversee mechanical projects from conception through to successful handover.
 * Prepare & Update H&S documentation, including all aspects of the company SMS.
 * Manage procurement of all equipment, including technical reviews, obtaining relevant approvals and keeping within budgets.
 * Prepare and update programmes, both construction & detailed commissioning.
 * Work closely with the design team, ensuring compliance at all times.
 * Report to senior management on a regular basis regarding progress / performance of projects.
 * Assist commercial dept. with the financial aspects of the project, which include providing accurate labour projections.
 * Attend / chair various client / site meetings.
 * Deal with aftercare of projects, including closing out defects.
Qualifications
 * Proven track record of managing a team and successfully delivering Energy sector or M&E installation projects.
 * Prepare Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI's, Technical Submissions, etc.
 * Thorough understanding of M&E works and in‑depth knowledge of the construction process.
 * Prepare handover documents i.e. O&M Manuals and Record Drawings.
 * Health and safety on site management.
 * Zero defects attitude.
 * Flexibility to travel, working between main office and site based.
 * Must have previous experience of working within the construction industry.
Desirable
 * HNC Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
 * Apprenticeship in mechanical discipline (Heating / Plumbing).
