Bradley David Associates is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) on behalf of a well-established international freight forwarder based in North West.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing logistics team, driving growth and developing profitable new business across all modes of international freight — air, sea, and road.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage new business accounts across all logistics services offered by the company.
* Identify, pursue, and secure profitable opportunities to grow company revenue and market presence.
* Prepare and agree pricing in line with company policy and margin targets.
* Coordinate closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery for new clients.
* Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new accounts to ensure operational efficiency.
* Deliver accurate and timely quotations, following up proactively to close opportunities.
* Maintain detailed performance records, demonstrating continuous growth and development.
* Monitor market trends and communicate relevant updates to management and operations teams.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and partners across the logistics network.
* Apply sound financial and risk management principles when evaluating business opportunities.
Requirements
* Proven experience in sales or business development within freight forwarding or logistics.
* Strong understanding of international transport modes – air, sea, and road.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to identify cost and profit drivers.
* Highly motivated, adaptable, and target-driven with a proactive approach
Requirements
Key Requirements Proven sales experience within freight forwarding or logistics is essential. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand cost and profit drivers. Good knowledge of sea freight operations; familiarity with air, road, or warehousing is advantageous. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools
