Offer description

We have a new opportunity for a Corporate Communications Officer to join the team. You will be responsible for devising and implementing our business and stakeholder communications plan, highlighting key strategic objectives, opportunities and engaging with all relevant corporate partners. You will act as a key touchpoint for all elements of the Club's operations, play a significant role in widening the knowledge and understanding of our vision and goals.

You will lead the development and delivery of a structured communications plan for our non‑football activity which will include managing internal communications (such as newsletters, briefings and updates on Club‑wider initiatives) in line with the Club's overall communications strategy.

You will be a visible and trusted point of contact for media covering off‑field matters by building and maintaining strong working relationships with journalists across news and business. You will also lead on briefing and supporting Club staff ahead of interviews, appearances or public engagements to ensure that they are well‑prepared and confident – achieving consistency in the representation of our Club.

Working closely alongside the Commercial and Partnerships team, you will help deliver announcements, activations and campaigns to ensure that all messaging is aligned to enhance and amplify for the Club's partnerships.

We are seeking a proactive, professional, and adaptable individual to join the team who can enhance and contribute to our Communications Department.

You will need to have demonstrable experience in a communications or media role, specifically devising and implementing a corporate communications plan. Whilst you will need an awareness of the football and business operations environment, experience of working in a sports organisation is not essential.

You must have a practical and confident approach to planning and delivering campaigns across digital, print and in‑person channels as well as excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt your tone for different audiences. You must be comfortable and approachable working with colleagues across all different levels and departments at the Club.

Working within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, you must have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities efficiently and work effectively under pressure.

Given the nature of this role, you will need to hold a full, UK driving licence and be available to work flexibly (including evenings, weekends and matchdays) and be on‑site to support our collaborative culture.

Aston Villa Football Club has established itself as a Premier League, Europa League and Women's Super League Club and the Communications Department play a central role in shaping the identity, reputation and voice of the Club.

The team manage all internal and external communications as well as overseeing media relations, digital content fan engagement and strategic messaging across all platforms to ensure that the Club's values and ambitions are clearly and consistently represented. They are also responsible for protecting the Club's reputation, ensuring smooth internal operations, amplifying our success and building meaningful relationships with fans and partners to enhance and grow Aston Villa Football Club both on and off the pitch.

There has never been a better time to join Aston Villa Football Club. Our drive to succeed is visible on the global stage, we are building a family ethos and culture to be proud of, and realising our ambitious plans for the expansion and improvement of our world‑class facilities.
