Ward 34 is the regional in patient facility for Haematology /Oncology patients - is a very busy, fast paced ward that cares patients with acute and chronic Haematology/Oncology diagnosis including cancer, patients with sepsis and those receiving intensive chemotherapy. We admit patients straight from home for either elective care or emergency care.
You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative. You will be adaptable and able to work in a fast paced environment caring for complex patients and able to deliver high quality, patient focused & holistic care. You will be expected to provide support to the registered nursing team, by carrying out an extended range of assigned clinical tasks as well as direct patient care and associated administrative duties.
You should have significant previous experience working as a HCSW in an acute setting plus SVQ level 3 or working towards this.
There will be supported mentorship available to the post holder.
This post includes weekend working and nightshift and may include rotation to other parts of the Haematology/Oncology service.
