Offer description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our full time team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding PE & CPD sessions, after school clubs, wrap around clubs and holiday club sessions. The role is Monday to Friday, working in primary schools during term time and holiday clubs during school holidays, the role also includes some evening work and weekend work.

This role has a start date of September.

What will I be responsible for?

Your role is all encompassing and highly enjoyable. You will be given set schools to attend each week to deliver curriculum PE and CPD lessons in. Your responsibility is to deliver high quality and accessible PE to children in all year groups (Reception to Year 6), ensuring all pupils progress. During school term time, you become an extension of our schools teaching teams and you must follow each schools routines and behaviour systems in place. During school holidays you are responsible for delivering our energy and football programmes at camps across the region, providing children of all ages exceptional days

Your role responsibilities also extend to;

* Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula that cater to various skill levels and promote lifelong fitness habits.
* Educate students on the importance of physical health, nutrition, and overall well-being.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive learning environment.
* Manage student behaviour in a positive manner, ensuring a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere.
* Provide sports coaching and guidance in various physical activities, encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship.
* Assess student performance and progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
* Organise and supervise extracurricular activities, including sports teams and events, to enhance student engagement in physical fitness.
* Safeguard all pupils in your care at all times and report any incidents accordingly
* Effectively plan excellent sessions which match the curriculum and schools requirements
* Deliver high quality school clubs, wrap around activities and school competitions when required.
* Effectively and promptly communicate with head office when required.

Person Specification for the role

The ideal candidate for this role has a mixture of the following qualifications and experiences;

* A degree or qualification in Physical Education or sports coaching or a related field is essential
* Experience in taking a group of 25+ children independently, delivering activities in a school setting
* A Track record of delivering sports sessions to large groups of children over a long period of time
* Experience in delivering sports sessions or PE outside and inside
* Competency in delivering a range of sports to children (For example- football, rugby, tennis, hockey, gymnastics, dance, OOA, basketball, netball)
* Strong knowledge of sports coaching techniques and physical education principles.
* Excellent and confident communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively. The ability to change styles to match age group, area and sports.
* Proven behaviour management skills to maintain discipline within the classroom.
* Highly organised with the ability to plan lessons and activities efficiently.
* A passion for promoting health and fitness among young people.
* Must have access to a vehicle and be able to drive.
* Must either hold an enhanced DBS or be able to pass am enhanced DBS check.
