Are you an experienced Cloud or DevOps Engineer looking to work on high-impact projects in a secure and fast-evolving technical environment? We are seeking a technical leader with demonstrable recent experience in Kubernetes and Ceph, or strong hands-on knowledge in Cloud and DevOps engineering with the ability to drive adoption of new technologies across complex systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team working on mission-critical infrastructure, supporting secure environments where performance, reliability, and resilience are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud-native solutions using technologies such as Kubernetes, Ceph, and associated tooling.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineering, architecture, and cyber security to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet functional and security requirements.
* Lead or significantly contribute to the automation of infrastructure using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD practices.
* Act as a subject matter expert at SFIA Level 5 or 6, guiding less experienced engineers and influencing technical decision-making at a strategic level.
* Evaluate emerging tools and technologies and contribute to innovation by proposing new solutions and optimising existing platforms.
* Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability through monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement practices.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Proven and recent experience with Kubernetes and Ceph in production environments.
* Alternatively, significant and demonstrable experience across modern Cloud/DevOps Engineering, capable of influencing infrastructure direction and implementation.
* Able to work at SFIA Level 5 or 6, demonstrating autonomy, leadership, and significant responsibility in your work.
* Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure automation (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
* Experience working within secure or regulated environments (e.g. Defence, Government, Critical National Infrastructure).
Desirable:
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenStack.
* Experience with observability tooling (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
* Exposure to infrastructure security principles and compliance frameworks.
What’s in It for You:
* Salary from £80,000+ depending on experience
* Career development opportunities working on complex, long-term programmes
* Work alongside technical experts in a supportive, collaborative environment
* Access to leading tools, platforms, and ongoing professional development
* Opportunity to work in secure, real-world impactful environments supporting the UK’s critical systems
If you're ready to take the lead on cutting-edge cloud projects and help shape the future of secure infrastructure, we want to hear from you.
