An exciting opportunity has arisen in South Lanarkshire Justice Social Work Services for three experienced Social Workers to join our new Justice MAPPA Team. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a new, specialist team focusing on assessment and case management of MAPPA cases as well as delivery of the new MF2C Programme across South Lanarkshire.
The Justice MAPPA Team will carry out assessments, including Court Reports; case management and intervention using MF2C and other programmes as appropriate for individuals subject to MAPPA and assessed as requiring this level of intervention. The successful applicants will be nominated for MF2C facilitator training and upon successful completion of this training will deliver this programme on a 1:1 and group work basis.
We are looking for skilled and motivated Social Workers with a minimum of two years recent experience in a Justice Social Work setting and knowledge of MAPPA processes. Those with experience of delivering MF2C or MFMC at case management or facilitator level are of particular interest. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate is vetted for use of VISOR/MAPPS and to utilise these systems to promote public protection.
This post will be of interest to experienced Justice Social Workers who wish to specialise in this area of public protection. There will be a clear focus on carrying out interventions and multi agency working with MAPPA partners. There will be the opportunity to work with complex and challenging cases and develop skills and experience in this area working alongside Senior Practitioners and supported by a Team Leader.
The successful candidate will have a Social Work degree with a minimum of two years experience in Justice Services and a clear understanding of risk assessment and management within the MAPPA framework. The ability to priorities your workload and sound assessment; writing and communication skills are also essential for this post. You will be expected to record and monitor work using electronic case recording systems. You will be committed to working with our service users in a pro-active and non-judgemental manner in the community to address their risks and needs and promote public safety.
The post requires the successful candidate to be SSSC registered. The successful applicant would be required to undertaken Non-Personal Police Vetting level 2 as part of a requirement to use ViSOR.
Hours: 35 and 17.5 hour posts available
