Assistant Practitioner – Community Therapy Service

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Practitioner to join our dynamic therapy team. This would suit an experienced Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation Assistant who wants to expand their knowledge base and drive forward standards of excellence and patient care.

The successful candidate will be working alongside Advanced Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and other Band 4 Assistant Practitioners in a highly experienced and forward‑thinking multidisciplinary team within the adult rehabilitation specialties including neurological rehabilitation. The team works closely with the Specialist Nursing teams for MS and PD across the county.

The service is delivered across the county by a county‑wide multidisciplinary community rehabilitation team. There are three bases across the county in Northampton, Wellingborough and Kettering. The team sees out‑patients at these units and other sites and visits patients in their own homes depending on their needs. The service also runs various exercise groups for patients which the Band 4 Assistant Practitioners assist in running and organising with the qualified staff.

The successful candidate will need to have the necessary skills to assess and treat patients with rehabilitation needs including neurological conditions such as MS and Parkinson’s disease under the guidance of qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

* To work within a specialised client group
* To plan individualised care programmes within the tested areas of competency
* To provide treatments within a variety of clinical settings including group sessions/classes
* When appropriate to provide care in patient’s own home
