An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) as a Medical Secretary. This post will be based at Links Unit, City Hospital, Aberdeen.
CAMHS is a very busy service, and we are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering highquality administrative support. The post holder will be responsible for providing Secretarial support to a group of 10-15 clinicians from across our multi-disciplinary service. Secretarial experience is essential for this post.
The Medical Secretary will be responsible for all audio typing and the booking of appointments for the clinicians they support, as well as a wide variety of other administrative tasks such as managing emails and phone calls, liaising with colleagues and external organisations, using Dragon to producing accurate clinic letters, and using Trakcare to ensure patient records are accurately updated.
The post holder will be part of the Liberty phone system used within CAMHS, supporting with the high volume of phone calls received by the service. Our Secretaries also support with covering reception as and when required.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team. You should be confident in prioritising your daily workload to meet service demands and working with minimal supervision.
Applicants should have good knowledge of NHS Patient Management Systems, e.g. Trakcare, which will be used on a daily basis in this role. In addition, you should have good organisational skills and be confident in working with IT systems.
This post is full-time, worked Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm to provide cover during the CAMHS core hours.
