We have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Supervisor to join the UK's largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.
To Supervise Van Elle's On Track piling activities on sites ensuring safe, quality delivery on time and to budget. This role is client facing and will represent Van Elle in potentially remote sites. Occasional travel to Van Elle office locations will be required to assist with planning of sites and tenders.
What you'll be doing:
* Motivate and lead site teams
* Confidently carrying out daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
* Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with company procedures and relevant safety legislation.
* Keeping accurate site records / diaries to record progress and any delays
* Attending site progress meetings
* Ensure sufficient labour, plant and materials are on site to fulfil requirements safely
* Undertake relevant quality checks as the ITP requires
* Supervising all items of Rail Piling works and civils works
* Contribute to the development of safe working methods (RAMS, task briefings)
* Communicate effectively and promptly with the Rail Management team to resolve issues quickly
* Build good working relationships with client organisations, suppliers and Van Elle staff
* Work with bid teams to ensure work is accurately priced during tender stage
* Working collaboratively with engineers and others to deliver quality reports
* Reflect and promote Van Elle company values through your work and conduct
Who we're looking for:
* SMSTS or SSSTS
* CITB Temporary Works Supervisor
* PTS Sentinel
* Formal first aid training (First Response Emergency Care, FREC preferred)
* Experience of supervision and coordination of site works (including subcontractors) in accordance with RAMS, HSEQ and programme requirements
* Experience in Rail Foundation installation and ancillary lineside civils experience and reinforced concrete in general.
* Experience in the construction, commissioning, checking and dismantling of temporary works
* Ability to read and understand technical site drawings (steel, formwork etc)
* Good understanding of current UK health and safety legislation
* Experience in undertaking lifting operations
Other Requirements:
* Eligible to work and live in the UK.
* A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK; Flexibility to travel across the UK.
* Valid CSCS - Gold or Black
