The Role
As a Science Technician, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe running of the school’s laboratories. Working closely with a friendly team of teachers and fellow technicians, you will support the practical elements of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing reagents, equipment, and practical resources for daily lessons
* Setting up and clearing away apparatus for demonstrations and student experiments
* Ensuring safe storage, accurate labelling, and responsible handling of chemicals
* Maintaining laboratory equipment, glassware, and technical machinery
* Supporting teachers during practical sessions where appropriate
* Helping maintain a safe working environment in line with COSHH, CLEAPSS, and school Health & Safety protocols
* Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and managing an organised prep room
* Supporting revision sessions, STEM events, Science fairs, clubs, or enrichment activities
