Job Description Senior Civil Engineer (Onshore) Contract: 6 months (likely extension to 12) IR35: Outside Hours: 7.5 per day, 5 days per week Locations: Edinburgh, Dublin, Cork or Belfast (local candidates preferred) We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support a portfolio of onshore energy infrastructure projects, including early works for a substation, grid-enabling developments, and battery storage schemes. The role will report to the respective Project Manager or Head of Onshore and will involve leading the design and coordination of civil works packages from concept through detailed design. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of civil and infrastructure designs for onshore energy and power projects Deliver designs in accordance with UK standards, regulations, and client requirements Undertake SuDS and drainage design, hydraulic modelling, and flood risk assessments Develop cut and fill volumetrics, road alignments, and earthworks modelling Integrate sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) into design proposals aligned with CIRIA guidance, SEPA, EA, and local authority requirements Coordinate with local authorities, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, and similar stakeholders Manage design deliverables using BIM workflows and digital collaboration platforms Ensure all outputs comply with DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, and relevant Building Regulations Requirements Minimum 10 years’ civil engineering experience in infrastructure or energy projects Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer (ICE or equivalent) Advanced technical knowledge of drainage and hydraulic modelling principles Proficiency in InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD Strong understanding of UK drainage legislation, planning, and environmental frameworks Experience working with local authorities or public sector clients For more information or to apply please contact Angus McCormick directly
