Key Responsibilities
* Configure and operate manual horizontal boring machines to produce precision parts in accordance with technical engineering drawings and specifications.
* Machine components to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
* Perform accurate self-inspections using precision measuring tools to verify part conformity.
* Conduct regular machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
* Read and interpret complex technical drawings to plan and execute machining tasks.
* Work closely with the production team, reporting to the Works Manager/Production Planning Manager, to meet contractual delivery requirements.
* Be willing to work overtime when required to meet production demands.
Required Skills and Experience
* A strong track record as a Manual Horizontal Borer Setter/Operator with hands-on experience in horizontal boring and milling.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to fine tolerances.
* Proficient in using measuring tools for accurate self-inspections.
* Experience in medium to heavy engineering environments, ideally with knowledge of machining diverse materials.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and motivated attitude.
* Familiarity with CNC horizontal boring machines and/or Heidenhain control systems is a plus but not essential.
