We are seeking to appoint two Specialist Practitioner (SP) Team Leaders within our Specialist Practitioner team covering our Hampshire area. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professionals using your competencies and behaviours.
This role will require working within the Specialist Leadership Team and with the senior management team across the Trust to build capability and capacity. The successful candidates will have a proven set of behaviours linked to the key values of Team Working, Caring, Innovation and Professionalism.

Main duties of the job
* Focus your team on patient wellbeing by monitoring and reinforcing the need to respond appropriately at all times
* Ensure that your team receives effective feedback
* Work effectively with the area Clinical Practice Educator to provide on-going development and coaching for your team in order to deliver the best levels of patient care and service
* Communicate a strong belief in the Trust’s purpose and values
* Act as a role model with a ‘can-do’ approach setting high standards, leading your team to ensure quality, safety and standards of patient care
* Demonstrate the ability to be cost effective with your resources including, for example, managing sickness.
* To liaise with other areas of the NHS, manage and deliver clinical care with project partners
* Maintain your own high levels of Clinical Practice within the Specialist workforce

Corporate Induction
It’s really important for us to ensure you have the best onboarding experience which allows you to feel a sense of belonging from the start. To help with this, we will book your Corporate Induction as soon as we possibly can (depending on availability).
All new starters need to attend our *Corporate Induction in person, this is held over one and half days from our educational centres based in: Newbury (Berkshire), Bicester (Oxfordshire) or Whiteley (Hampshire). More specific details will be sent to you once your start date has been confirmed.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
* SCAS approved Minor Injury and Minor Illness modules (or equivalent) with full competency portfolio at Level 7 (Level 6 accepted with demonstrable experience of competency working at Level 7- must meet SCAS SP scope of practice)
* Formal Leadership qualification or demonstrable level of experience.
* Registered HCPC Paramedic or RGN Nurse with demonstrable Specialist or Advanced practice experience.
* IHCD or FutureQuals Emergency Response Driving qualification. For NMC Registered Nurse SPs SCAS SRV emergency driving qualification required.
* Demonstrable emergency driving experience while holding a full driving licence, with no more than 3 penalty points. Within the latest amendment to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 s. 89(1), Magistrates now have the power to issue a SHORT DISCRETIONARY DISQUALIFICATION (SDD) (driving licence ban) for events of speeding that are considered to have been above the pre-set guidelines for sentencing within the Magistrates guidelines. In regard to the SCAS recruitment process, any applicants that have received a short ban of this type would NOT be eligible to have their application progressed until the ban was completely free from their licence (3 years after the conviction).

* Operational commanders’ course (NARU or equivalent)
* MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent. MSc in Healthcare Leadership

Essential criteria
* Leadership / Management experience in an operational function.
* Experience of objective setting and performance management.
* Experience in analysing data and delivering presentations based on the information.
* Understanding of NHS developments and their impact on the Trust, together with knowledge of locality-based decision makers and influencing bodies.
* Experience of working and engaging with internal/external stake holders.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of leading / managing of change programmes within their area or expertise
* Budget management experience
Skills and Apititude
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates innovative and operational thinking.
* Demonstrates excellent clinical knowledge and skills across the Specialist skill set.
* Motivational leader, able to bring out the best in others.
* Ability to create an environment that allows effective problem solving at all levels.

* Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Proficient IT systems user, able to produce reports as required and oversees the maintenance and standard of data quality produced from these systems
Desirable criteria
* Has experience in the writing and formulation of managerial reports to include investigations. This should include data analysis.
