Business Manager - Accountancy Practice & Corporate Finance Recruitment Specialist
A national professional services firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director or Director to join its Corporate Finance team. The role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of transactions, supporting clients through complex strategic and financial situations and contributing to the growth of the firm’s corporate finance offering.
Role
The Associate Director / Director will work closely with a Director or Partner to lead the day‑to‑day execution of corporate finance transactions, managing timetables and deliverables. The role involves hands‑on project management, preparation and review of key transaction documents, origination of new business opportunities, and leadership of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the day‑to‑day execution of transactions alongside a Director or Partner, ensuring transaction timetables are met
Managing projects, directing junior team members and reviewing work prior to senior sign‑off
Preparing and reviewing key transaction documentation, including Information Memoranda, business plans, Heads of Terms and financial models
Contributing to deal strategy and tactical decision‑making
Originating and developing client opportunities by identifying prospects and leveraging relationships
Leading the development of pitch materials and playing a key role in client pitches
Building and developing a personal business network to enhance origination capabilities over time
Providing leadership and guidance to junior team members producing transaction documentation
Taking ownership of specific team responsibilities such as training, people development, quality or financial management
Demonstrating a strong understanding of deal rationale and providing insight on counterparties and third parties to clients
Applying transaction experience to a broad range of deal documentation, including funds flow, SPAs, Heads of Terms and locked box mechanisms
Leading client take‑on and risk processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements
Identifying potential deal opportunities and developing approaches to originate new transactions
Skills and Qualifications
ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
Significant experience in a corporate finance environment, including leading transactions
Experience across buy‑side, sell‑side and management buy‑out transactions, including private equity
Strong ability to identify M&A targets and prospects
Degree educated and/or chartered accountant with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Capital IQ or Bloomberg
