Software Development Engineer, Amazon Games

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is as excited about games as we are. In this role, you will contribute to a technical mandate on an AAA multiplayer online battle arena game title built on Unreal 5. You will assess the ability of new technologies to deliver and drive innovation, reliability, performance and productivity gains. It's an opportunity to work on the latest technologies and build a truly next generation experience for our players.
Key job responsibilities:
* Own optimization challenges with a moderate scope on the project, both on CPU and GPU.
* Prioritize optimization challenges with leadership.
* Analyze game performance using various systems and tools, identifying and reporting areas of concern.
* Conduct root cause analysis for performance issues, proposing effective mitigation strategies and solutions.
* Assist game code and content developers in debugging and optimizing performance bottlenecks found during testing.
* Identify opportunities to improve testing, tooling or workflows for better triaging, reporting, and analysis of performance issues.
About the team: At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs.
Basic Qualifications
Experience designing or architecting of new and existing systems, experience in Games Industry, experience with Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, Lumberyard or proprietary 3D game engine, non-internship professional software development experience, and non-internship experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with full software development life cycle, proficiency in managing large codebases and multi-product development, and expertise in concurrency, memory, and performance optimization.
