Overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at Wimborne Victoria Hospital. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and also non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital, ensuring that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained. Full on-site training is provided and PPE provision is also included. This post is 14 hours per week, 1800-2100 (times can be adjusted, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday).

This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service that Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing, expanding organisation with a strong commitment to NHS values and putting patients first. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, to staff who transfer as well as new staff it recruits itself.

To support the Facilities Supervisor in their role and to ensure that the standard of cleanliness within the Trust is implemented and maintained.


Responsibilities

* Main duties include vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, emptying bins, and use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
* Working as a team with a flexible approach, good communication skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
* All the above vacancies offer an opportunity to work extra hours as able to cover sickness and staff holidays.


Requirements / Qualifications

* Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team, flexible approach, and initiative.
* On-site training provided and PPE provision included.
* Employment requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Applicants should note sponsorship eligibility: those requiring Skilled worker sponsorship are ineligible to apply.
