About the Role
Oxfordshire is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join our North Team within Children’s Social Care, supporting Early Help, Front Door and statutory services.
This is a key role at the heart of our multi-agency safeguarding arrangements, where you will support children and families at the earliest opportunity while ensuring robust, defensible decision-making at the point of referral.
You will play a vital role in screening contacts, assessing risk, undertaking statutory work, and ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Triage and assess incoming referrals within the Front Door/MASH environment
* Undertake Section 17 (Child in Need) assessments
* Lead on Section 47 (Child Protection) investigations
* Provide expert advice and consultation to partner agencies
* Make evidence-based threshold decisions
* Support Early Help interventions to prevent escalation
* Lead complex cases and provide mentoring to less experienced staff
* Contribute to strategy discussions and safeguarding processes
