As a Solution Architect, you'll be at the heart of one of the UK's most significant defence infrastructure programmes. You'll help shape the technical solutions that support the maintenance our submarine fleet - critical to national security. Day‑to‑day, you'll be part of a growing architectural team within our Digital Solutions business unit, contributing to a portfolio of medium to enterprise‑scale projects.
Responsibilities
* Scope functional and non‑functional requirements and translate them into high‑level solution designs.
* Define system components, integration points and data flows using modern technologies and platforms.
* Present and communicate solution designs to stakeholders through workshops, proposals and visual storyboarding.
* Lead technical delivery, resolving complex issues, managing risks and working with software partners to achieve successful deployment.
* Ensure solutions align with architectural strategies and standards, selecting appropriate technologies and vendors to meet programme needs.
This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Required Experience
* Proven experience in technical architecture and solution design using tools like Sparx EA and frameworks such as ArchiMate
* Strong understanding of security principles and governance
* Demonstrated success in designing and delivering complex systems integration solutions
* Demonstrate an ability to communicate and manage all levels of stakeholders
Desirable Experience
* Background in regulated industries such as defence, aerospace or nuclear, finance
* Experience in integrating enterprise level systems
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in technical architecture and solution design such as BCS Practitioner Certificate in Enterprise and Solutions Architecture.
* Additional certifications in security or enterprise systems are advantageous
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
