The Opportunity:
As our Product Development Manager, you'll be the alchemist behind our next generation of hit beverages. You'll be the driving force from the first spark of an idea to the satisfying sip in the customer's hand.
This is a hands-on role - you will be based in our Head Office & Lab in Bristol.
What You'll Do:
* Interpret NPD briefs and lead the recipe development from concept to launch
* Lead internal product tasting sessions of NPD samples, including benchmarking sessions, and responsible for dispatching samples to key customers
* Liaising and communicating with the manufacturers, other members of the product team, ops team, and account managers throughout the development and launch process
* Monitor product quality including shelf life, chemical testing, micro and organoleptic
* Creating and managing manufacturing specifications using the NPD system
* Maintaining a library of raw materials in the lab and an up to date database of ingredients
* Attend customer development/innovation days as required and supporting customers with technical queries
* Assisting in the sourcing new ingredients where appropriate
* Reviewing the market and keeping up to date with current food trends and issues
* Generating information for product labelling where required, in line with regulatory standards
* Occasional travel required, from supporting product launches at manufacturing sites to visiting suppliers
* Ensure full compliance and maintaining all records in line with BRC standards
What You Bring to the Table:
* Minimum BSc Food Science/Technology or similar
* Strong mathematical skills, approaching your work with accuracy and attention to detail
* Practical hands-on NPD experience, with ability to demonstrate working within a fast-paced NPD technologist role
* Beverage application knowledge is strongly advantageous
* Understanding of HACCP
* Excellent organisation and coordinating skills with the ability to perform well under pressure
* Knowledge of UK labelling legislation
* Valid driving licence desirable as there is some occasional travel
