East Suffolk Council Address: East Suffolk House, Melton, Woodbridge IP12 1RT and Riverside, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 0EQ Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 per annum (Band 3) Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk. We currently have exciting new opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Major Sites and Infrastructure Team as Developer Contributions Support Officer. In this role, you’ll help manage and administer developer contributions, working across systems such as Uniform and Exacom to ensure accurate recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), Section 106, Section 111 RAMS contributions, and other relevant payments. You will support senior officers with tasks required under CIL Regulations, including calculating liabilities, issuing notices, processing exemptions, maintaining financial records, and responding to solicitor enquiries. You’ll also assist Planning Officers by tracking RAMS contributions and managing any related refunds or transfers. You will play an important part in maintaining robust monitoring processes that track the full lifecycle of developer obligations, working closely with Finance to ensure all income and expenditure is accurately aligned. The role also involves raising invoices, issuing refunds, contributing to service improvements, and helping the team maintain ISO 9001 quality standards. Above all, you’ll demonstrate and promote the organisation’s workplace values while carrying out any related duties that support effective service delivery. We’re looking for someone with strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office and a good level of overall computer literacy. You should bring experience in developing or using systems and processes for monitoring, along with the ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. There will be an expectation that the role will involve answering calls from all stakeholders and respond to enquiries by emails or other means. A logical, analytical approach, combined with accuracy and a methodical working style, is essential. You’ll also need a good standard of secondary education, including GCSEs in English and Maths and further study such as two A‑levels or an equivalent qualification. The role requires someone who works well as part of a team, can manage their own workload effectively, and is able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines—even when under pressure. Occasional travel within the district may be required, so access to a car or suitable transport is important, although the organisation encourages digital communication wherever possible. If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all of the essential requirements, please apply. If you are looking for a role that combines administrative duties with the potential for growth and increased responsibility, we would love to hear from you. Why work for us?
