SALARY: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Remote working from home with visits to the learners workplace predominantly around the Preston / Blackpool area
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Skills Coach / Trainer & Assessor who has experience working in Education, carrying out assessments and supporting learners.
Working as a Skills Coach / Trainer & Assessor you will manage a caseload of learners and ensure they successfully complete their programme of learning within the agreed timeframe. This involves providing continuous information, advice, and guidance to both learners and their employers.
As a Skills Coach / Trainer & Assessor a key responsibility is to conduct initial skills scans and then strategically plan and sequence learning to ensure all knowledge, skills, and behaviours are fully embedded and evidenced, preparing the learner for their final assessment.
The role requires the timely and effective assessment of learner progress through teaching sessions, observations, and work submissions, with a commitment to providing detailed, constructive feedback. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong communication with employers, conducting regular progress reviews to set SMART objectives and ensure all training needs are met, including the delivery of off-the-job training for apprentices. Furthermore, the role involves adapting delivery for learners with additional needs and ensuring they can effectively use digital tools and resources to maximise their learning experience.
DUTIES
Your duties as a Skills Coach / Trainer & Assessor include:
Information, Advice & Guidance
* Provide continuous information, advice, and guidance to both learners and their employers, leveraging your expertise to support their training and development needs. This includes liaising with all parties to ensure training requirements are met, particularly for apprentices, where the correct amount of off-the-job training must be delivered.
Caseload Management
* Effectively manage a cohort of learners to ensure they meet key performance targets and complete their programmes within the agreed timescales. This involves conducting monthly checks to confirm learners are actively engaged and making sufficient progress towards their milestones.
Learning & Assessment
* Conduct skills scans at the start of and throughout the learning journey to plan and sequence the curriculum. You are responsible for the holistic assessment of learners, providing timely and constructive feedback on submitted work and observations to help them progress and prepare for end point assessments.
Partnership & Support
* Work in partnership with learners and their employers, conducting regular progress reviews every 8 to 10 weeks to set SMART objectives. You will also provide ongoing progress updates to managers to foster effective communication. For learners with additional needs, you will adapt the learning delivery as required and ensure all learners are confident in using technology to maximise their learning experience.
