Job Title: Room Leader - TN9 - Level 3 - £11.25+ per hour
We are currently seeking a qualified Room Leader for our Preschool room in Tonbridge (TN9). Our nursery is a private day care facility located in a converted house with spacious grounds, conveniently situated for residents and commuters to London, just a 7-minute walk from Tonbridge Station. We operate full-time from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
The shift pattern consists of 4 days a week with one day off, totaling 41 days over 4 days.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Proven supervisory and coaching experience is essential.
Main duties include:
1. Ensuring high-quality childcare and education in a safe, clean environment.
2. Serving as a professional role model for staff, maintaining high standards of appearance and conduct.
3. Coaching, mentoring, and supervising nursery practitioners to ensure role fulfillment.
4. Supporting the Nursery Manager.
5. Conducting termly supervisions, observations, and cohort tracking.
6. Embedding and adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
7. Maintaining up-to-date room display boards and communication materials.
8. Keeping Key Person information current.

Essential qualifications and skills:
* Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
* Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience as a Room Leader
* Supervisory and coaching experience
* Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding policies
* Understanding of Ofsted inspection framework
* Teamwork experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of health and safety requirements
This is a full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and suitability.
