Job Title: Eukaryotic Genome Data Coordinator
We are seeking a coordinator to oversee the incorporation of the increasing volumes of eukaryotic genome data into Ensembl. You will provide leadership and vision for our eukaryotic genome analysis pipelines, with extensive knowledge of genome annotation, comparative genomics, and the Ensembl infrastructure.
You will work closely with all Ensembl teams to ensure data is processed and released efficiently, identify and remove barriers to scaling, and maximize user impact. You should have significant experience working within international consortia, providing leadership in areas such as biodiversity and pangenomics, and leveraging your network of collaborators to drive future data growth in Ensembl.
Required Qualifications and Skills
1. Experience managing medium-sized teams and coordinating across multiple teams within large international consortia.
2. Deep understanding of genome annotation, comparative genomics, and the Ensembl infrastructure.
3. Experience managing large genomics projects, balancing service delivery with development capacity.
4. Advanced knowledge of Ensembl APIs, schemas, and release processes.
5. Strong technical skills in genomics, including genome annotation, experimental data types (ONT, Iso-seq, Ribo-seq), and comparative genomics.
6. A global network of collaborators and experience engaging with stakeholders.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work across multi-institute, remote teams.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Experience in grant writing, budgeting, and reporting.
2. Knowledge of pangenomics and its relationship with genome annotation.
3. Experience with AI-ready data and assessing AI model outputs.
4. Experience with cloud computing, hybrid-cloud, and containerization.
5. Familiarity with event organization and training delivery.
