Sendsory Address: 302 London Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP2 0AJ Salary: £39,000 per annum pro rata Hours: 40 hours per week, 8am – 4pm plus 2.5 hours remote working, term time only Contract: Fixed term for 12 months, required to start 1 September 2026 Reference: 0565 As a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teacher at Sendsory, you will support children with SEND to regulate their emotions, develop communication and social skills, and engage positively with learning. Your role will involve delivering our Therapeutic Curriculum, working closely with a small, dedicated team and providing personalised, hands-on support to help each child thrive in a nurturing and structured environment. You will: deliver engaging, child-centred sessions using the GROW and THRIVE curriculum implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) outcomes within sessions for each individual child log attendance for all children during each session record daily observations in the Sendsory app attend and contribute to child reviews held half termly (October, December, February, March/April, May and July), discussing progress in relation to our curriculum learning outcomes and individual EHCP outcomes manage and delegate responsibilities to a small team of SEND Teaching Assistants, ensuring smooth session delivery provide personal care for children as required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times set up and tidy up the therapeutic space before and after each session, ensuring a safe, welcoming and calming environment support children during breakfast and lunch times, encouraging independence and social interaction act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), taking responsibility for overseeing aspects of safeguarding within the organisation, including reporting safeguarding concerns. Your remote responsibilities will include: assessing children’s engagement to mark off completed outcomes for AQA Unit Award Scheme Certificates, as stated in the curriculum, ensuring all evidence for outcomes is completed by each Friday and fully finalised by the end of each half term ensuring weekly learning outcomes within the GROW and THRIVE curriculum for each child are completed by Friday each week completing regular records of progress against identified EHCP outcomes, ensuring all records are fully completed by the end of each half term (October, December, February, March/April, May and July). preparing, reviewing and updating risk assessments for activities within the local community, as well as for rooms and the garden within the hub and any activities within the hub that require a risk assessment. You will need: Experience working with children with complex SEND including Trauma QTS is preferred, but applications from unqualified teachers are also welcome.
