CONTROLS ENGINEER (ROBOTICS)
Dorchester
MUST LIVE WITHIN 30miles of DT1
PERMANENT POSITION
Mon-Thurs 08:30 – 17:00 and Fri 08:30 – 16:00
IMMEDIATE START / NOTICE PERIODS CONSIDERED
This is a rare opportunity to join an established company located in Dorchester, Dorset. We are seeking an experienced CONTROLS ENGINEER to join their growing Software engineering team. You will be integrating devices and machinery to operate together to solve complex automation problems. You will have experience in Fanuc robots, commissioning, writing TP & Karel programs. This will be a varied role from simple to complex machinery.
* Experience commissioning and programming Siemens S7 PLCs and TIA Portal
* Motion control, including VFD setup and drive tuning
* Functional Safety (designing, programming, validating)
* Experience using Roboguide
* Ability to communicate at a high technical level, in both written and verbal English
* Willingness, interest, and ability to rapidly learn new technology
* Able to work on own initiative and autonomously
* Competent diagnosing common electrical issues
Must hold:
* Passport OR Birth Certificate with National Insurance proof
* 3+ years of experience programming Fanuc robots at an advanced level
* STEM degree, preferably engineering
* UK driving licence
