We are seeking a skilled and reliable Steelwork Forklift Driver / Labourer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts in an industrial setting, specifically within the steelwork or construction industry. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to transport, load, and unload steel materials and products within the warehouse or construction site.
* Material Handling: Assist in the movement and organization of steelwork materials, ensuring they are stored in the designated areas.
* Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload trucks with steel products while adhering to proper handling and safety procedures.
* Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of inventory levels, report shortages or damages, and assist in periodic stock checks.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
* Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
* General Labour: Perform various manual labor tasks as required, including but not limited to cleaning, sweeping, and assisting in construction projects.
Qualifications
* Forklift Certification: Valid forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts, preferably in a steelwork or construction setting.
* Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
* Experience: Prior experience in a similar role within the steelwork or construction industry is highly desirable.
* Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to identify and address potential safety hazards.
* Communication Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
* Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as required.
Working Conditions
* The role involves working in an industrial setting, which may include exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
* Physical stamina is essential as the role involves manual labor and extended periods of standing.
Monday to Thursday 6am-2:30pm & Friday 6am-1pm
39 hour week with overtime available
24 days annual leave
