We are recruiting for a Tenancy Sustainment Support Worker.
As a Tenancy Sustainment Support Worker, you will primarily work inan outreach capacity to support clients to maintain their tenancy andprevent homelessness. This outreach work will take place in clientshomes, in temporary accommodation and within the community, to supportclients in a range of areas such as; tenancy sustainment, homelessnessprevention, budgeting, debt support, advocacy, accessing groups andservices and attending appointments.
Developing good relationships with Local Councils and agencies thatcan support and assist clients with a range of needs who present atthe community hub.
Your duties would include:
* Hold a caseload of around 25 individuals at any one time with lowto medium support needs.
* Lead on providing an outreach service to clients within their ownhomes, including within temporary accommodation and in thecommunity, with the aim of maintaining tenancies and preventing homelessness.
* Support clients to maintain tenancies, by communicatingeffectively with landlords and housing providers. With the aim ofresolving any housing related issues that they may have, to prevent homelessness.
* Support clients to access accommodation through the privatelyrented sector or through other housing providers both supported andunsupported. This support going include individually tailoredongoing support to maintain housing if needed.
* Complete daily records of support offered to clients on Inform.
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
* Good knowledge of welfare benefits, housing andhomelessness law and policy.
* Good knowledge of alcohol, drugs and issues around addiction andrelapse management
* The ability to forge effective working relationships in order tonavigate and to create effective pathways to support for clientswith complex needs acting as a change broker
* Ability to communicate with a wide range of people using excellentactive listening skills to form healthy and constructive relationships
* Good computer literacy skills and ability to make effective use of systems.
* Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
