Job summary
The NHS Northern Gambling Service is a Regional Service for people and families experiencing significant gambling harms and associated distress. It has clinics in the North West (Manchester, Liverpool, and Preston) and Yorkshire and Humber and the North East (Leeds, Sheffield, and Newcastle). The post holder will work across our North East geographical footprint and will be based at our Sheffield clinic. Travel will be expected across the service footprint to attend occasional meetings and CPD in person.
The core programme for service users and carers is psychological therapy in group and/or individual formats. The multidisciplinary team includes psychology, psychotherapists, mental health nurses, and lived experience experts. The post holder will be based at our Sheffield clinic with opportunities for remote work via virtual consultations. There is scope for innovation and service development, as well as involvement in teaching, presentations, and research activities.
Main duties
The main duties include: comprehensive initial assessments and formulation; risk assessment and management; delivering CBT for gambling harms in individual and group settings; providing carers' interventions; psychological assessments and reports; therapy for co-occurring difficulties; supervising non-psychologists; attending MDT meetings; teaching and training; research and evaluation; stakeholder engagement.
