We are working with a leading UK financial services group seeking a Consumer Affairs Lead to join their dynamic Corporate Affairs & Marketing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a strategic role in how one of the UK’s most recognised brands is represented in the media and to its millions of customers.
In this role, you will act as the key bridge between Marketing, Corporate Affairs, and external agency partners, ensuring brand campaigns are not only seen but also amplified through earned media and consumer PR.
🔍 The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As Consumer Affairs Lead, you will:
Deliver high-impact earned media coverage by shaping and supporting campaigns across the group’s consumer brands
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Marketing team, offering PR counsel on proactive opportunities and potential reputational risks
Drive the integration of comms across marketing, brand, and franchise teams to ensure consistent messaging
Support product and proposition launches with PR strategies aligned to broader marketing and media plans
Maintain and grow your own network of key media contacts (consumer, national, lifestyle, finance)
Manage a Digital PR Manager, ensuring SEO and digital outreach supports overall PR goals
Track and report campaign performance to demonstrate ROI and reputation impact
✅ Candidate Profile: What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a skilled consumer PR professional with a strong understanding of how to generate brand visibility through storytelling and media engagement.
You will need to demonstrate:
Proven experience in consumer PR, either agency or in-house, ideally working with large or household brands
Experience in an integrated agency model, liaising across internal teams and agency partners
Strong media relationships and ability to generate meaningful coverage
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A digital-first mindset, with working knowledge of SEO for PR and media analytics
Strong organisational skills and comfort working in fast-paced, matrixed organisations
