THE EMPLOYER IS: FOOD TO GO AWARDSThe Events Assistant supports the events team in planning, coordinating, and delivering successful events. This role focuses on administrative support, logistics, coordination, and hands‑on help during event setup and execution. It is ideal for someone organised, enthusiastic, and eager to grow within the events industry.
Responsibilities
* Assist with planning and coordinating events such as meetings, conferences, social gatherings, and corporate functions.
* Help prepare event materials, schedules, signage, and guest lists.
* Communicate with vendors, venues, and suppliers to confirm details and relay information to the events team.
* Handle administrative tasks including data entry, preparing documents, responding to enquiries, and maintaining event records.
* Assist with venue research, obtaining quotes, and comparing suppliers.
* Help monitor stock levels of event supplies and prepare items needed for upcoming events.
* Provide on‑site support during events, troubleshooting minor issues and ensuring a smooth attendee experience.
Skills and Qualifications
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow event timelines, keep documents in order, and complete tasks efficiently within set deadlines.
* Comfortable interacting with clients, guests, vendors, and team members. Able to convey information clearly, ask questions when needed, and maintain a professional tone in emails and phone calls.
* Ability to ensure accuracy when preparing guest lists, event materials, or schedules. Helps check venue setups, décor, and logistics to ensure everything matches the event plan.
* Works well with different members of the events team, supports colleagues during busy periods, and contributes to a positive working atmosphere.
* Able to stay calm and helpful when challenges arise – such as last‑minute changes, delays, or guest issues – and quickly adjust tasks to keep the event running smoothly.
* Driving licence.
Work Hours, Salary and Closing Date
Standard hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible hours may be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Salary ranges: 16-17 £7.55, 18-20 £10.00, 21+ £12.21 per hour. Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland. Closing date: 17 February 2026.
