Due to expansion in the commercial team, my client is looking for an experienced Materials Buyer with a background of working for a new build developer. This is a pivotal role where you will be joining a fantastic developer based in Staffordshire with a real family feel.

🔨 The Role
You’ll work closely with the construction and commercial teams, liaising with suppliers, managing procurement schedules, and keeping everything running.
✨ Key Responsibilities:
* Source and procure building materials in line with project specifications and budgets
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Negotiate competitive prices and manage supplier performance
* Track and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely site deliveries
* Keep accurate records of orders, budgets, and supplier agreements
* Support site teams with material-related queries and ensure smooth supply chain communication
🛠️ What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience as a Buyer for a UK construction or housebuilder is essential
* Solid knowledge of building materials and suppliers
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* A team player with a can-do, solutions-focused attitude
* IT proficient – particularly with Excel and purchasing systems
