About the Role
As Internal Sales Manager (mortgages), you will take full responsibility for leading and developing a team of Telephone Business Development Managers (TBDMs). You will play a hands-on role in driving performance and ensuring the team consistently delivers against call activity, conversion, and completion targets.
This is a leadership position where you will directly influence revenue outcomes, team engagement, and future talent development, particularly as you help shape the next generation of field-based BDMs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and inspire a team of TBDMs, driving a high-performance sales culture
* Monitor and deliver against KPIs including call activity, conversion, and completions
* Act as a senior escalation point for complex cases and broker queries
* Triage large and complex deals (including multi-million-pound portfolios) prior to underwriting
* Coach, mentor, and develop team members, identifying future talent for promotion into field roles
* Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members
* Maintain high levels of engagement, accountability, and performance through structured management
* Support broader operational leadership, with potential oversight of broker support functions
* Collaborate closely with underwriting and senior stakeholders to ensure deal viability and service excellence
Package
* £50,000 basic salary
* OTE £98,000

Skills & Experience
* Strong background in residential and/or buy-to-let mortgages
* Previous people management experience or clear leadership capability within a sales team
* Understanding of mortgage processes including purchase and remortgage
* Ability to motivate, coach, and manage performance effectively in a fast-paced sales environment
* Confident communicator with the ability to handle complex deal discussions
* Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk and opportunity
* Driven, hands-on, and ready to lead from the front
