We are seeking a Security Officer to join our Gold Standard security team and play a vital role in supporting security operations across the Defence estate. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, vigilance, alertness, strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, and communication skills, and be willing to go above and beyond. This is a shift work position at 48 hours per week, including breaks, with night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts as per the roster. Shifts are typically 4 x 12 hours, scheduled between Sunday and Saturday, with some flexibility within the roster, which will be explained during the interview.

The Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) provides security at over 170 MOD sites across the UK, including high-profile locations such as MOD Main Building in London and naval bases at Portsmouth, Devonport, and the Clyde. We offer access control, military working dogs, control room operations, and other security services, supporting the Defence Mission and protecting personnel and property from various threats.

This role does not include relocation allowances and is not deemed business critical, so sponsorship under the points-based visa system is not available.

Application assessment will consider your CV and experience related to site security and customer service. Interviews will evaluate behaviors such as Working Together, Managing a Quality Service, and Communicating and Influencing, based on real-life examples.
