We're looking for a Production Design Engineer to help us turn prototypes into products that can be built efficiently, consistently and at scale. You'll be part of our Technical Product team, working closely with Production and Process Engineering to make sure our Kraken products are ready for the real world.

What you'll be doing:
* Own product designs from prototype through to scalable manufacturing.
* Improve designs while keeping everything compliant with standards and specs.
* Optimise for manufacturability – think cost, materials, build sequence, accessibility, repeatability and robustness.
* Design production tooling, jigs and fixtures.
* Support Design FMEA to catch and fix potential issues before volume production.
* Help resolve production issues caused by design.
* Work closely with Production, Electrical Design and Systems Engineering teams.
* Support creation of SOPs and work instructions alongside drawings and 3D models.
* Generate and manage detailed BOMs.
Essential skills, qualifications and expeirence:
* Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Product Design or similar.
* Confident using CAD software.
* Experience as a Design Engineer (uni projects count too).
* Solid understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and manufacturing methods.
* Practical mindset and interest in workshop/manufacturing activities.
* BOM management and MRP tool experience (we use 123).
* Great team player with strong communication skills.
Desirable skills and experience
* Experience in maritime, automotive or aerospace sectors.
* Knowledge of boatbuilding and marine systems.
* RCA and problem-solving skills.
* Familiar with cell manufacturing.
* Experience with digital workshop management tools.
