We have a very exciting, secure piece of work, that is based in our new Farnborough site. We are delivering a unique, highly secure multi-tenant / multi-datacentre platform and are looking for a hands-on VDI Engineer to design, deploy, configure and maintain the EUC layer of a large-scale Wintel VMware Horizon environment. This work underpins critical defence-sector systems and must align to NCSC-aligned security and architectural standards. You should be proficient in VMware and experienced in developing VMware Horizon environments. You must be eligible for DV Clearance. What you will be doing: Drive the direction of all tasks allocated to the EUC services workstream. Design of multi-site / Mutli-Tenancy VDI Farms using VMware Horizon View. Produce and maintain design artefacts, such Low-Level Designs, Release Notes, Vitrualisation Services related fail-over / disaster recovery instruction. Detail the build process, new procedures and review/update. Lead all aspects of VDI Services deployments through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to test and reference, through to the important production systems. What You'll bring: VMware certification or equivalent experience. Designing and deploying VMware Horizon environments. Strong Horizon View, vCenter, ESXi and UAG skills. Experience with DEM, Gold Image management and AppVolumes. Background in securely hardening virtualisation environments (CIS / NIST). Knowledge of AD, networking, DNS/DHCP or multi-datacentre ops is a bonus. It would be great if you had: Experience with the design and build of client devices, such as Thin / Zero / Thick clients with Windows or Linux-based Operating Systems, such as Windows 11 or BeCrypt Paradox. Experience of supporting Microsoft Windows Server services, such as Active Directory (AD), Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Active Directory File Service (AD FS). Experience of Cisco-based network services. Experience of Microsoft implementations of DNS and DHCP technologies.
