Life Safety Systems Engineer (Fire Alarms) - Electrical
Location:
Home-based with primary coverage across Lancashire & the North West. Occasional UK travel and overnight stays may be required (all expenses covered).
Salary:
Circa £35,000 (Negotiable DOE). OTE: £40,000+ per annum with regular overtime, weekend work, and a performance-related bonus scheme.
Job Description:
Carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, small works, and modifications on life safety systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc.). Completing electronic reports to meet British Standards and company procedures. Participating in an emergency support rota (1 week in 6, once assessed). Committing to continual professional development through internal and external training.
Minimum Requirements:
* 2+ years’ experience with life safety systems (maintenance, commissioning, modifications).
* Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
* Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Full UK Driving Licence (max 3 points).
* Technically minded with a desire to learn and grow.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
* City & Guilds 231, 17th Edition, or equivalent qualifications.
* FIA/IFEDA certified in fire alarm installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
* Experience with equipment from brands like Gent, Hochiki, Apollo, Advanced, Kentec, etc.
* Knowledge of UK statutory requirements for life safety systems.
