Join to apply for the Technical Services Supervisor role at Equans UK & Ireland. This permanent full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) is based at Tameside General Hospital in Ashton‑under‑Lyne. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Technical Services Supervisor will lead the technical performance and maintenance of the Tameside General Hospital contract, ensuring compliance and efficient customer service delivery.
Responsibilities
* Accountable to the Technical Services Manager (TSM) for day‑to‑day supervision, monitoring and performance of the contract.
* Manage workflow across the team, working closely with the helpdesk to provide efficient maintenance delivery.
* Supervise a multidiscipline mechanical/electrical/fabric workforce.
* Support TSM with planning and implementing changes to improve service, operational quality and customer satisfaction.
* Facilitate cooperation between Technical, Security, Helpdesk and Client staff.
* Balance and allocate Planned Works, Reactive Works and Lifecycle works to meet Service Level Agreement timeframes.
* Install, commission and service plant equipment and industrial furniture.
* Diagnose faults, debug and commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through the PPM programme.
* Price minor works projects for in‑house and contracted works.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records in accordance with site policy.
* Carry out Authorized Person, Competent Person or Responsible Person duties once fully trained and site aware.
* Interface with suppliers and service providers to meet service requirements.
* Prioritise workloads to meet deadlines and support the organisation’s operational goals.
* Conduct return‑to‑work interviews and other HR interventions as necessary.
* Lead and organise team meetings, including delivery of toolbox talks and other training.
* Escalate issues to TSM as appropriate.
* Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and resolve them to completion.
* Supervise and participate in the on‑call system.
* Assist other EQUANS Healthcare contracts if required.
* Use CAFM knowledge for reporting, system interrogation and workload analysis.
* Train to become an authorised person in various disciplines.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Strong customer focus with experience delivering high standards of customer service.
* Previous FM experience within a hospital and/or PFI environment is an advantage.
* Knowledge of HTM systems is advantageous.
* Experience in at least two of the following: water management (Legionella), medical gases, ventilation, HVAC, and similar disciplines.
* Apprentice trained and qualified in a mechanical/electrical background.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Understanding of HR related items.
* Sound risk‑assessment awareness and safe working with equipment.
* Experience with HVAC, pump systems, medical gases, steam systems, pressure systems, water systems and legionella is welcome.
* Knowledge of Building Management Systems.
* Practical implementation of Health & Safety.
* Full driving licence required.
* Authorized Person experience.

The individual will play a vital role in EQUANS, working alongside an established technical team to ensure legal and contractual compliance and to deliver excellence in service.
Complexity
Key complexities include managing the workflow from Helpdesk/Maximo through to completion and sign‑off. Communication with clients and customers is critical. Working in a live hospital 24/7 requires careful planning of maintenance works and stakeholder collaboration.
