MCS Group are working with NI Fire & Rescue Service to recruit for a Procurement Advisor on an initial 6-month basis.
As a Procurement Advisor, you will support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in delivering a modern, responsive financial service. You will act as a vital bridge between internal stakeholders and procurement experts, providing guidance on everything from tendering and legislation to day-to-day contract management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Advisory & Support: Providing expert advice to internal stakeholders on procurement matters, including tendering, quotations, and current legislation.
* Contract Management: Proactively monitoring supplier performance, leading contract review meetings, and managing service level agreements (SLAs).
* Compliance & Governance: Ensuring all procurement activities comply with public policy, legal frameworks, and NIFRS strategies.
* Data Analysis: Collating and interpreting spend information to identify efficiencies and improvements.
* Operational Oversight: Approving orders and requisitions within delegated limits and assisting with the e-procurement system.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in procurement within large organisations.
An HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline (finance, business, etc.) PLUS 2 years of demonstrable procurement experience.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Finance/Management Information systems.
* Knowledge: A solid understanding of the procurement life cycle and public sector procurement legislation.
* Soft Skills: Excellent planning, attention to detail, and the ability to influence management and build working relationships.

* Salary: £20.22/H PAYE | ~£38,114/y
* 36.25/h Week
* Initial Duration: 6 Months
