Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Goods In Coordinator to join our clients team based in Colchester, Essex. This key role ensures the smooth and efficient flow of materials into the production process, helping maintain productivity across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritise, check, and organise incoming deliveries, with a focus on after-sales and remedial items
* Inspect goods for accuracy (item, size, colour, quantity), and check for damage or defects
* Raise and process paperwork for damaged or missing items
* Label and document items for the next stage of production
* Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of required components
* Allocate items to the correct department and process stage
* Generate stock orders and monitor factory stock levels
* Maintain and update stock records daily
* Prepare packages and complete documentation for collections and returns
Additional Responsibilities
* Operate forklift for loading/unloading (license desirable; training provided if not certified)
* Package products for delivery
* Drop off items at courier/postal services when needed
* Assist with annual stock take
* Develop product knowledge over time
* Learn to drill doors (post-settlement period)
* Support other departments with general duties as needed
Key Requirements
* Strong attention to detail, especially in identifying slight variations in colour or finish
* Excellent prioritisation and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
* Highly organised and able to work independently without close supervision
* Strong ability to retain and act on detailed information
* Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy items as needed
* Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential (training can be provided)
* Good communication skills (verbal and written), along with numeracy and IT literacy
Goods In Coordinator additional information
* Monday to Friday (no weekends) 40 hour week
* Salary depending on experience starting upto £27,000
* Start around 8am to 4.20pm for the first 3 months however then could be from 6am depending business demands
* 6-month probation
* 30 days holiday including 8 bank holidays. They ask the team to reserve 5 of their days for Christmas where we have approx 1 ½ week shutdown
