We provide a broad range of courses within a dynamic learning environment, including a beauty salon equipped to industry standard. We are seeking a part time Lecturer in Beauty Therapy to teach across a range of programmes including full time City and Guilds Levels 2 and 3 and commercial courses including Beauty Therapy short courses, evening courses and Hair Reduction and Skin Rejuvenation using Laser systems.
You will need to be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in the subject area, a minimum of 3 years’ experience gained within the Beauty industry and some teaching, training or assessing experience in the area of Beauty Therapy. You will either possess an advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (PGCE, DET or equivalent) and be a qualified assessor, or will be willing to work towards these qualifications, supported by the College. Experience or qualifications in Laser treatment would be desirable.
MAIN PURPOSE OF POST:
The main purpose of the job is to ensure the retention and achievement of students through the delivery of good practice in teaching and learning.To teach, develop and improve programmes of study in Beauty Therapy.
DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THE POST:
All Lecturers have a generic list of duties (see below) and some which are specific to the postholder, including the following:
Teaching on full time Beauty C&G levels 2 and 3 including:
·C&G Level 2 Diploma (VRQ) in Beauty Therapy (3003-63)
·C&G Level 2 Technical Certificate in Beauty Therapy (6003-20)
·C&G Level 3 Diploma (VRQ) in Beauty Therapy (3003-36)
Commercial courses:
·Beauty Therapy short courses.
·C&G PT/ Evening Beauty Therapy courses at L2 and L3 and our newest qualifications L4 Hair Reduction and Skin Rejuvenation using LASER Systems
Qualifications:
·Qualification in Beauty Therapy at Level 3
·GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve
·Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, DTLLS)** or willingness and ability to undertake teacher training, supported by the College
·Assessor award (CAVA or equivalent) or willing to obtain
·Internal Verifier award (IQA) or willing to obtain
Knowledge:
·Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained in the Beauty industry
·Up to date knowledge of the relevant subject area
·Experience of teaching, training or assessing in Beauty Therapy
